Green Building Environments
At QCFC, we believe that sustainable construction and reduced environmental impact are more than just a trend; they are good business and wise ways to reduce the impact we have on the Earth as a safeguard for future generations. We have become an Architectural Interiors leader when it comes to green buildings because, virtually by definition, a green building is a High Performance Building. We partner with a number of industry and construction organizations, to optimize our awareness and resources to provide increased awareness of the importance of sustainable building practices and the energy and financial efficiencies associated with them.
QCFC is committed towards USGBC’s Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) buildings and thus have become an FSC (forest Certified program). Which allows for key points in the LEED Program. The LEED program certifies buildings at different levels of energy efficiency and low environmental impact, basing the assessment on specific credit areas in a number of different categories. As building owners are discovering, building or renovating to LEED standards ensures efficiencies that generally result in cost savings over the life of the building.
QCFC and FSC
Forest Management (FM) Certificate
Forest management certification involves an inspection of the forest management unit by an independent FSC-accredited certification body to check that the forest complies with the internationally-agreed FSC Principles of Responsible Forest Management.
If the forest complies with FSC standards, then the FSC accredited certification body issues a certificate for the operation. Certified forest operations can claim the forest products they produce come from a responsibly managed forest.
Before a certified forest operation can sell their products as FSC certified, they must also obtain chain of custody certification (FM/COC).
Chain of Custody (COC) Certificate
Chain of custody certification provides a guarantee about the production of FSC-certified products. Chain-of-custody is the path taken by raw materials from the forest to the consumer, including all successive stages of processing, transformation, manufacturing and distribution.
From a customer perspective, the FSC label represents a promise that is being made to them. Chain of custody standards is the mechanism FSC has to ensure that 'promise' is delivered.
Operations that have been independently verified for FSC chain of custody certification are eligible to label their products with the FSC logo.
QCFC is proud to understand and manage their materials in order to promote a culture of awareness and sensitivity to the changing environment in which we all live.

Finishing
Being in Southern California with its stringent environmental emission standards, QCFC is at the forefront of finishing technology and products that meet or exceed the emissions standards set in the world.
QCFC’s extensive support with its suppliers of finishing materials to meet the quality requirements set for our customers along with the ever changing standards is critical to pushing the industry as a whole for better finish products and hence cleaner air for the world.
Emissions are controlled by our "state of the art" pressurized finishing facility. Recently installed, it meets or exceeds some of the strictest emission standards in the world: those enforced by the San Diego Air Pollution District.
Please allow us to assist you in the preparation of your next project specifications to assure the "Greenest" woodwork installation possible.
